Even with immense release, Aagadu failed to cross Attarintiki Daredi day one record. While the Pawan Kalyan starrer movie raked Rs 10.75 Crore on first day in AP and Nizam, Aagadu stood next to it by collecting Rs 9.71 Crores. NTR Badshah remained in third place with collection sof 9.25 crores.It is to be mentioned here that although several biggies have released after “Attarintiki Daredi,” none of them managed to surpass the first day collections of the Pawan Kalyan starrer.The collections of Aagadu were best opening day grosser in Mahesh career.

Mahesh Babu's Aagadu has minted record collections on the first day at the Tollywood box office. Trade reports say that the action drama has raked in around 15 cr on the first day (including premier shows). Aagadu has collected 9.23 cr from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana while it minted $ 915 k from US premier shows (nearly 5 cr)

The film has been second biggest opening for Telugu films in 2014 after Pawan Kalyan's Attarintiki Daaredi. Sreenu Vaitla has directed Aagadu with Tamanna as the female lead and planned to repeat Dookudu success with SS Thaman combo.

RGV recommends Aagadu for Oscar Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma made sarcastic comments on heroes, directors and others through social platforms. This time around, the star director has cornered Superstar Mahesh Babu's Aagadu. Its known that Aagadu directed by Srinu Vaitla got mixed talk on the day of its release. However many are now wondering whether Aagadu will take off for the prestigious Oscars. Director RGV who compared Aagadu with Magadheera on other day, again tweeted about Aagadu . He tweeted "The dialogue and dialogue modulations of "Aagadu" should be sent to Oscars on a special award...They will truly stand out in world cinema". 'The subjective derivation of Srinu Vaitla and Mahesh Babu reminds me of a spiritualistic intercourse of Leonardo De Caprio and Martin Scorsese'. He also added "I can't believe Kona Venket can write such gems of dialogues...by the way i missed the titles ..did Kona write?" He feels Mahesh was a fantastic actor and asked his fans to request him to act in fantastic films. Mahesh Babu's 'Aagadu' was released yesterday in over 150 screens across the United States, which is the biggest ever release for a Telugu film. The filmmakers have organised a slew of special benefit shows across the country and admittedly the film has grossed over 581,000 USD crossing Salman Khan's 'KICK' and Ajay Devgn's 'Singham Returns.'

One of the producer, Anil Sunkara posted the box office figures in his twitter account and is overwhelmed with the response. “AAGADU scored higher than KICK nd SINGHAM combined in US premiers. UNSTOPPABLE MIGHT OF SUPERSTAR. USA final figures:: 527k reported, 581k(total ).. ,” tweeted producer Anil. He also wrote that Aagadu has registered massive figures in Nizam area which are yet to be revealed.

However, Aagadu met with mixed reviews and despite the critics, with Mahesh's charm, the film is likely to create new records across the globe.

3 Things Vaitla Misses in Aagadu

Apart from highlighting humour, not many know that Sreenu Vaitla follows a set of sentiments. He make sure that he repeat them in each and every film of his as he believes that they're one of the "reasons" for the success of his films.

The number 1 sentiment for Sreenu Vaitla is making a reference to legendary NTR somewhere in the entire film. He did it in Ready, Dookudu, Baadshah. And all the films have done well at ticket windows. But Vaitla somehow couldn't accommodate it in Aagadu.

The number 2 sentiment for  Sreenu is casting child actor Bharath. Bharath was seen in all his recent films but Aagadu is an exception.

The number 3 and recent addition to the above list is his daughters. Sreenu's 3 daughters are seen in Dookudu and Baadshah but they're "missing" in Aagadu.

Of course, Brahmanandam dancing to the tunes of star heroes' songs on silver screen is not a new thing. Many a times he picks up some hit numbers and shakes his legs. But fact is that he can't dance like a Ram Charan in 'Dillaku Dillaku' song from 'Racha' movie. Then how did he manage to do that in 'Aagadu'?

In 'Aagadu', Brahmanandam dances to a medley of hit songs including Dillaku Dillaku from Racha, Nachore Nachore from Yamadonga and Cinema choopista maava from Racegurram. Superstar Mahesh Babu has set an All Time Record in USA with 'Aagadu'. As per our reports, Aagadu collected $501K in 107 locations from the Thursday premieres.
This is an All Time Record as the film surpassed the existing record of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan's Attarintiki Daredi with a margin on $155K.
Aagadu has released today across the globe in record number of theaters and the film opened up with mixed response.
Mahesh Babu's performance is getting good applause in the theaters and his dialogues have become special attraction in the film.

When Mahesh's Aagadu teaser released, the dialogue 'cinemala prabhavam entundo teldu kaani, punch dialogues prabhavam maatram ekkuvundi' got instant attention. Also the dialogue 'Prathivodu pululu, simhalu.. velaparam vachestondi' got craze and turned controversial. It was felt that Mahesh took a dig at other heroes uttering such punches. Though he cleared later that his dialogue is aimed at none as he is also mouthing such dialogues from years, there were still doubts.

Finally Aagadu release has given certain clarity. In fact, a villain in the movie says the famous 'interval' dialogue - 'this is all time record' - and Mahesh then utters 'punch dialogues prabavam'. Perhaps, this is satire by superstar on his own flick.

Aagadu Day 1 Box Office: Surprises Galore

Aagadu starring superstar Mahesh Babu released worldwide in record number of prints, theaters. It came with huge expectations of creating new Day 1 record in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. So where does it stand at the end of the first day? Well, early estimates suggest that the film is highly unlikely to create the new Day 1 record but it has every possible chance to emerge as the second biggest opener of all time by beating Baadshah.

The collections in the cities were phenomenal for the film as we had reported in our advance booking report. But the smaller centers and Ceded territory in particular and predictability with the talk it has, have come out with lower numbers than expected putting the overall day 1 down. There are few surprises in store as well with the film expected to put up record numbers in unexpected territories, courtesy huge hires with the biggest surprise being Nizam, a strong territory for Superstar Mahesh Babu, not finding place among those.
Early estimates for Aagadu are around 9.7-10 Cr (once again courtesy of huge amounts as hires). Keep checking this space as we update the complete day 1 numbers throughout the day.

Will Aagadu Miss Target By Miles??

The hype and hoopla got revealed. Finally, Superstar Mahesh Babu's 'Aagadu' is in theatres opening to average talk in B & C centers, slightly above average talk in A centres. What are the records and figures this sensational movie is going to register anyway? Does that hype surrounding it have enough fuel from the content to give it a long run at box office? Let us see how the predictions are.

Undoubtedly 'Aagadu' is far below expectations from the 'Dookudu' combo as they have depended on tried and test plot, only by highlighting Mahesh's dialogues and body language. Also the flavor of Dookudu is quite visible and many scenes are drawing references to our hero's other movies. On a whole, mixed talk on day one might contribute to around 9-9.5 crores share collections in AP and Telangana, and that won't break any existing First Day records. In USA, it is too early to predict the collections graph but premiere-shows have run packed as Mahesh's stamina helped Aagadu mint around 1 Crore from them.

Looking at the way trade is unfolding, probably Aagadu might end up in and around 45+ crore club, if no other movie gives a tight run or knock it down in coming weeks. Anyway, these figures will not suffice the hunger of fans, who are waiting for a blockbuster Industry Hit. Collecting 70+ crore is impossible with this above-average talk even if it is Mahesh, which implies that 'mega' target is missed by miles.

Telugu Lecturer Behind 'Aagadu' Dialogues

Right from the beginning, Aagadu dialogues are packing a punch. Though they are good in rhyme, meaning and relevance, somehow certain dialogues looked over the board but still Mahesh's terrific uttering, timing and modulation-style clicked them big time.

Writers Upendra Madhav and Anil Ravipudi are the two able creators who penned such 'grandhikam' laced Rayalaseema style dialogues for Mahesh Babu in Aaagadu. Also Sreenu Vytla too penned many dialogues, as he is an expert at punch-dialogues. However, all these dialogues couldn't be understood if one doesn't hail from pure Telugu background, as some words dug deep into some formal language written in classic literature.

To avoid cutting-out or leaving-in any dialogue from the movie without having proper understanding of it, it is heard that Censor officials took help of a Telugu lecturer. Because some dialogues sounded like 'boothu' for Censor board but producers defended them as good words spoken in Rayalaseema area. To clarify the issue, a Telugu lecture has helped, and finally passed all dialogues with just fewer cuts.

Story Shankar (Mahesh Babu) is an orphan who is adopted by a sincere police officer (Rajendra Prasad). But he is forced to leave and become a cop on his own. Shankar is a powerful police officer who uses unconventional methods to bring criminals to justice. He is posted to a village where Damodhar is building a power plant, which is fiercely opposed by the locals. Shankar finds a personal connection after going to the village. Rest of the story is all about how Shankar sets everything right. Artists Performance Actors: Mahesh Babu is dashing and stylish as a cop. He had to mouth innumerable dialogues unstoppably. His dances offer variety. Tamanna has a limited role as owner of Saroja Sweets. Her episodes as a greedy woman are entertaining. Posani Krishna Murali scores well in reality show episode. Brahmanandam is his usual-self as a Delhi broker. MS Narayana’s database lawyer character is nice. Rajendra Prasad is good in a cameo. Vennela Kishore has justified his full length character as an assistant to hero. Brahmaji is given an honest cop character and his dialogue in interval is impressive. Sonu Sood is alright. Asish Vidyardhi, Rao Ramesh, Raghu Babu and Tanikella Bharani are fine. Ajay plays a dignified and positive character for a change. Shruti Haasan sparkled in a special song with high glamor quotient. Technical departments Story - screenplay - direction: Story of the film is prepared to incorporate Sreenu Vaitla kind of scenes. However, a strong story is missing. Director has succeeded in creating interesting scenes in 1st half where hero gets hold of the assistants of villain. Saroja Sweets TVCs episode and potugadu quiz episode are hilarious. The entertainment scenes in second half have become repetitive. Screenplay should have been better in second half. Sreenu Vaitla should invent a new form of entertainment. Other departments: Songs are shot well. I personally liked Aaja Saroja and Shruti Haasan special song. Background music is loud. Dialogues written are too lengthy and some of them (vishayam weak. publicity peak) are good. Cinematography by Guhan is good. Fights will attract action lovers. The producers have spent money lavishly on the film and it shows on the screen. Analysis: First half of the film is engaging with Mahesh Babu entertainment. Second half should have been better. Plus points of the film are Mahesh Babu and entertainment. On the flip side, it’s verbose and screenplay should have been better. Telugu film industry is slowly getting into Bollywood blockbuster mode where a successful hero - director combination ensures great openings and revenue. The combination of Mahesh Babu and Sreenu Vaitla is enough to guarantee great collections.

AAGADU OR DOOKUDU 2

There are reports and reviews coming out regarding Mahesh Babu’s latest movie Aagadu. The film is reportedly seen as nothing but similar to Dookudu. Apart from the entertainment quotient including punch lines, people have been saying that this is old wine in a new bottle. Sources say that first half is very entertaining while the second half is very weak and is an exact replica of Dookudu with typical Bramhi comedy. Story:

Shankar (Mahesh Babu) is an orphan brought up by Raja Rao (Rajendra Prasad). But Raja Rao mistakes Shankar on one occasion and drives him out of the house. Later, Shankar becomes an Encounter Specialist and gets posted in Bukkapatnam, where the Damodar (Sonu Sood) is skyrocketing. Damodar wants to build a power project there and he goes on elimination spree on those opposing it. At this juncture, Shankar comes to know about a shocking truth which turns professional rivalry in to personal too. What happens next is the crux of the story.

Analysis :

For Aagadu, Srinu Vaitla has chosen a routine revenge drama, which has been penned by Anil Ravipudi, Upendra Madhav and Praveen Varma, but he has written an interesting screenplay. The director is known for his unique comedy and punch liners. He has included all the commercial ingredients and has amazing grip on the narration of the movie. Aagadu opens with Mahesh Babu's stunning entry with a punch dialogue. There is no much growth in terms of story in first half of the movie, in which game show is the main highlight. A couple of romantic songs and a host of comedians keep you entertained in this portion. A couple of twists after the interval gain moment for the film. The second half has a story, but it is routine and predictable. Moreover, it is not as entertaining as the first half. The climax is not so impressive.

Performances:

As a cop, Mahesh Babu has done a fantastic job and he is the showman in Aagadu. He is a treat to watch in action and dance sequences and he will rock you with his amazing dialogue diction. Tamanna has also done well and she impresses you with her glamour. Her chemistry with Prince is good to watch on screen.

A host of comedians like Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam, Nassar, Rao Ramesh, MS Narayana, Vennela Kishore, Raghu Babu and Posani Krishna Murali keep tickling your funny bones throughout the movie  Aagadu. Sonu Sood, Brahmaji, Nadhiya, Tanikella Bharani and have also done justice to their respective roles. Shruti Hassan's item song is also one among the big assets of the film.

Aagadu  has brilliant production values and SS Tamana's music is the main highlight in the technical front. His soundtracks have already become chartbusters. His background score is awesome and it elevates several scenes. KV Guhan's cinematography is fantastic and it is another highlight of the film. The choreography of action and dance sequences is simply superb. Other technical departments have also delivered fantastic works.

US fans review of Aagadu

Mahesh Babu's Aagadu hit screens today and the reaction has been mixed back home. However, in the overseas market, the audience reaction has been more or less the same.

Those who watched the premier show of the latest release were all smiles when they came out. While some of them hailed Mahesh Babu's performance, many others said the movie is an extension of his previous flick Dookudu.

Mahesh Babu fans are very dissappointed by AAGADU.
There is a dialoge in the film "content weak ga unte publicity peak ga untundi",intrestingly this dialoge applies to AAGADU itself.
Every one thought in AAGADU Mahesh gives punch to POWERSTAR PAWAN KALYAN but through above stated dialoge he himself made fun of his movie AAGADU

Aagadu is an telugu movie starring with mahesh babu and thamana ,shruthihassan seeen in Special song,mahesh babu seen in police get up ,before release movie creates records Apart from them, the film features an ensemble cast of Rajendra Prasad, Nadhiya, Rao Ramesh, Brahmanandam and M. S. Narayana in key roles.

Story is mix of seenu vaitla's other movies and many other movies it's just parody of other movies , no story base no links heroine is just another guest actor. Mahesh did the whole acting, he stole the show and all the dialogues are over within 30 minutes. 

One of the Mahesh's Die Hard fan opinion: Not a seenu vaitla's movie and not at all mahesh's movie! Bad movie.

In the beginning of the movie there will be comedy but later on it looks like to lengthen the movie they added those comedy scenes. Then it is same as Dookudu movie. Same revenge story. Fans will definitely get disappointed for sure. 

Final Verdict: Can watch once, no hurry to stand in lines and book tickets , overall mix of dookudu and such other movies. Will hurt fans, comedy is okay but unnecessarily prolonged too much !!
